They met randomly at an opening in Fitzroy, 2 March 2007. He was a curator, she – a painter. The subsequent interactions led to the crystallisation of this exhibition. An exchange of the usual social roles and power dynamics was part motive. The other – an involuntary realisation that the artist had met her muse.
